Touchscreen and Skin Changes

Touchscreens are not as responsive when a person has thickened, dry skin on their fingers.  With ageing, glands produce less oil.  This can mean skin is much dryer.  Thickening of skin can be caused by a number of conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis and eczema.

Management of Skin Changes;

Before using touchscreens clean hands.
Use moisturisers on hands.  Allow the cream to be fully absorbed before touching the screen.
Manage any skin conditions that may cause dryness and skin thickening.
