VISUAL HALLUCINATIONS

There are some conditions that have symptoms of visual hallucinations.  These include mental health conditions such as schizophrenia and some personality disorders, as well as some types of dementia including Lewy Body Dementia.  When using a variety of apps it is important to be careful about visual content.  Apps that include faces on different bodies ( such as PhotoFunia), visually highly stimulating apps or distorting images can be confusing and upsetting to these individuals.  Start with low visually stimulating apps and progress slowly.

LARGE TYPE KEYS

There are a variety of phones available now that have large types keys to make it easier to see the letters and numbers.  Often older people prefer key pad phones rather than touch screen phones.  Smart phones with multiple functions can be confusing and the touchscreen can be overly sensitive when they are using them.
